It was established in 2011 by Jay Starkman and is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It is a CPEO as it is certified, but not endorsed, by the IRS and is also certified by the Employer Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC). Their PEO services include payroll, tax administration, employee benefits, compliance, training, workers' compensation, risk management, integrated technology, and other HR services. In order to generate value for their shared clients, Engage PEO prioritizes collaborations with brokers and agents as part of its distinctive approach to HR delivery. The business has seen substantial expansion and achievement, such as being ranked the 127th fastest-growing private company in the nation in 2016 by Inc. Magazine. They do not share specific service plans or pricing on their website, so prospective clients have to submit a form to be contacted. 

OysterHR offers an all-in-one global employment platform (GEP) that helps businesses hire, pay, and care for their distributed team in over 180 countries. Its services are similar, but OysterHR is not a PEO. It does offer a global employment consulting service and operates as a hybrid Employer of Record (EOR) in most countries. It was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Wilmington, DE. Its services include guided onboarding, global employment software solutions, HR process streamlining, global health benefits, localized recommendations, compliance and protection, and an all-in-one platform covered by on-demand support. OysterHR offers three service options on their website, where clients can choose to pay $29 per contractor per month, or $599 per employee a month for their global EOR and employee management solution, $499 per employee a month if the client opts for the annual plan. There is also a discounted Scale plan for which prospective clients must request a quote. OysterHR is considered a "unicorn" business and has earned certification as a B Corporation, honoring it as a business that upholds the strict criteria of social and environmental performance, openness, and responsibility.
