Girl Scouts Add First-Ever Dog Cookie & Allergy-Safe Treats

Girl Scouts of the USA is adding two firsts to its 2027 Girl Scout Cookie® lineup: Patch Pals™, the organization's first cookie made for dogs, and Girl Scout Sparkables™, its first allergy-friendly cookie. GSUSA announced both online-exclusive treats on September 8, 2026, ahead of the national cookie season that kicks off January 12, 2027.
Girl Scout Sparkables were developed with allergy-friendly baking brand Partake and are described as a crunchy oatmeal cookie loaded with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. They're produced in a facility built to avoid the nine major food allergens (wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, sesame, and shellfish) and are also gluten-free and vegan. GSUSA says the cookie came about largely because Girl Scouts themselves pushed for a lineup that more of their friends and troop-mates could actually eat.
Patch Pals, meanwhile, were made in partnership with BARK (NYSE: BARK), the company behind BarkBox. They're soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored treats for dogs, and each one features one of four "patch" designs baked right into the cookie, nods to classic Girl Scout experiences like camping and community service. It's a playful way for four-legged family members to get in on cookie season alongside their humans, and it's the kind of crossover that pet brands and cookie fans alike have been asking for.

Both Sparkables and Patch Pals will be sold exclusively online for direct shipping. They won't be available at the classic in-person booth sales or door-to-door sales that Girl Scout Cookie season is known for. That online-only setup starts the same day cookie season officially opens nationally, January 12, 2027, though individual councils set their own local start and end dates. Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, for example, runs its 2027 season from December 14, 2026, through March 7, 2027.
Neither new cookie is replacing anything on the classic lineup. Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel deLites, and Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs are all sticking around, and GSUSA has framed Sparkables and Patch Pals as additions rather than substitutions. There have been past attempts at allergy-friendly cookies in the program, but they haven't stuck around for more than a season.
Anyone who wants a heads-up when the 2027 season goes live can sign up for alerts at girlscoutcookies.org or text "Cookies" to 59618. Given that both products are online-exclusive and tied to a single national launch date, shoppers hoping to snag Sparkables or Patch Pals will want to have their order ready to go as soon as the season opens rather than waiting to stumble across a cookie booth.
