Are you looking to create a multilingual website? Most sites offer a couple of languages, so what can you do? Well, have you ever heard of Webnode? It's a website builder, but unlike other builders, they offer more than 20 languages. No wonder they have 40 million users.

They've recently launched a new version to replace the old one, including new designs, an improved shopping cart to their website builder, and developed their editor. We're here to tell you everything you need to know about Webnode. Let's take a look.

Who Is It For?

Depending on what you want to create, different website builders can be for different customers. For instance, Shopify is for e-commerce websites, while Squarespace is for showcasing your work. The question remains, who should use Webnode?

Webnode is for everyone; you can create an online store or a blog, or any website you like. It has many features that will help you create your dream website and get noticed on Google.Save $19.20 on the 2-year plan

Webnode Plans

webnode-plans.jpg

The best part about using Webnode is that it includes a free plan. So, you can actually try it before deciding if it's the one for you without paying a cent. The free plan includes limited features like 100 MB storage. You won't get your own domain name; it'll look like "nameofyoursite.webnode.com," and there would be a small Webnode banner at the bottom of your page. However, there's no limit on how long you want to use it, so it's not so bad to check if it's the one for you.

Webnode offers four different premium plans, with the cheapest plan Limited starting from $3.90. Unfortunately, it doesn't include a free domain, but you can connect an existing one, and there's still an ad at the footer. Still, it's professional to have a proper domain than the one in the free plan.

Other plans include a free domain for the first year. After that, you'll be charged a renewal fee of $18.95. The Mini plan still has an ad in the footer. Still, it has better features than the Limited plan includes background videos.

On the other hand, the two advanced plans Standard and Profi, don't include any ads. Plus, you'll get access to Webnode's multilingual website. That's right! You'll have the option to add multiple languages to your website.

Let's take a look at the premium plan's details:

Price & Payment Methods

Like most website builders, the longer the plan you choose, the higher the discount you'll get. While you can't pay monthly but you can pay 1 to 10 years in advance depending on your choice.

You can pay for your Webnode plan using:

  • Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, & Discover)
  • PayPal
  • Wire Transfer
  • OneCard
  • Skrill

Ease of Use

Web builders have developed to meet the needs of beginners who can't create a website from scratch. Webnode is just like that; it'll only take you a few minutes to get it up and ready. It's not as easy as it sounds, but it won't be so bad once you get the hang of it.

You can start by choosing a template and edit the design from the settings dashboard. Then, you can add anything using the drag-and-drop editor. There are some pop-up instructions that guide you and help you in using specific tools. There's also a tutorial you can watch to learn all the basics if you're not familiar with any of it.

Customer Support

Webnode's customer support isn't the best. They're only available 24 hours, 5 days a week, which is a huge disadvantage. Other than that, their only communication platform is through email. While they are quick to answer, it's not the same as contacting an agent on the phone to help you solve any issue.

You can also refer to their knowledge base, which is so 2002. It's not the best, but you can refer to it for basic tasks; they have step-by-step instructions as well as screenshots. Overall, it could help you get the job, but it's not the best.

Templates & Design

webnode-templates_1.jpg

Webnode provides over 100 beautiful templates organized into eight different categories. Whether you're looking to create a website for weddings or a restaurant, you'll find anything you need.

The problem is that you can't change your template without losing all your content, and it's not easy to customize it. That's why it's better to choose your template carefully. Although you can easily add content, it's a bit frustrating you don't have many colors and fonts to design your website. You can only use the shades provided by Webnode, which defer from one element to the other. Similarly, you are limited to ten fonts with each template. It shouldn't be that bad; I think it'll help you have a better design for your website.

The good news is you have several options to choose a background color for your website, which kind of makes up for the font and colors. You can even change any content block's background to any image, color, or pattern of your choice.

Security

SSL Certificate

Your website's data is encrypted between the browser and the server so that no one can access any information. The SSL certificate is a very important feature, especially if you're creating an online store, and luckily it's provided for free with Webnode's plans.

Password Protection

Take an extra security step and restrict non-members from accessing certain parts of your website by adding password protection.

Backup & Restore

You can always backup your website and refer to previous versions of it when needed. Most website builders provide this service as an add-on. Well, it's not included with every plan, only with the Profi and Standard plans. With the Profi plan, you get unlimited backups, while in the Standard, you get up to 5 backups.

Features

When it comes to the features available, I think you'll agree that some excellent features are included with their plans. Other than the emails, storage, and bandwidth, there are some excellent features. These include:

Multilingual Sites

Webnode is known for its multiple languages available in the Standard and Profi plans. You get 2 languages with the Standard plan and unlimited languages with the Profi plan, which helps you expand your site's audience.

The multi-language is easier to set up on Webnode than on other website builders. You can choose the language of your choice, and they'll duplicate everything, but you're responsible for translating. The best part is, the user experience stays the same regardless of the language used. Webnode will take care of the SEO elements as well, so everything is easily set and done.

E-commerce Tools

Webnode doesn't have the most advanced e-commerce tools, but it's a good option for a small online store for digital products or some goods. E-commerce tools include:

  • Track inventory
  • Adding different sizes and colors of a particular product
  • Product promotions
  • Create and manage categories
  • Bulk import and export options
  • Order management tool
  • Shipping options

The shipping and payment options are separated from the product tools, which is a bit tiresome to manage everything separately. It's not difficult, but it's annoying not to have everything in one place.

Webnode & SEO

Search Engine Optimization is quite essential these days to get a better ranking on search engines. I mean, this will help you have a better chance of getting noticed by Google. The upside of using Webnode is to optimize every single page, URLs, descriptions, and even custom HTML header code filed.

With Webnode's SEO tools, you'll learn a lot; it's a great resource to enhance your SEO knowledge, especially if you're a beginner.

Custom Form Builder

Our favorite feature of using Webnode is the customs form builder, which allows you to customize your contact forms. How? You can either add your preferred field, whether advanced like drop-down lists or basic like name and email, using the block editor. This way, you'll collect all the information you need from your site visitors.

Final Verdict

All in all, if you're looking to create a multi-language website Webnode is a great option; you'll get more than 20 languages to choose from based on the plan you choose. Other than that, it's no Wix or Squarespace, but you'll benefit from great SEO tools and learn a lot. So why not give it a try? Maybe even start with their free plan to decide if it's the one for you.
