Where to Watch Made in Abyss?Where to Watch Made in Abyss?

Made in Abyss fans have been waiting for a second season for years; the good news is that the season is set to be released in 2022.

If you haven’t seen it yet and want to join in the fantasy anime fan base, or if you want to explore the forgotten civilization within its black Abyss again. Then follow along as I break down where to watch Made in Abyss.

Made in Abyss Synopsis

If you are not familiar with the series, then here is a quick overview to get you hooked.

This show isn’t what it appears to be; at first glance, it seems to be a children’s anime, especially as they are portrayed with chibi art. Like other animes, they do go on adventures, but the series slowly starts revealing itself as something much darker than a happy trip.

The series follows Riko, a little girl, who befriends a humanoid robot called Reg. The two go on to search for Riko’s mother, who disappeared into the Abyss.

What is the Abyss, you ask, it is a city that is built around a giant pit, and it sinks downwards into thousands of feet; no one knows its nature or what treasures and monsters lie in it. It is unknown how deep it truly is? Or what is at the bottom of the pit? How deep can anyone go before death becomes inevitable?

The two are faced with challenges throughout the way, and the deeper they go, the more they encounter nastier creatures. But they keep pushing forward, determined to find Riko’s mother, even it means becoming permeant residents of the Abyss.

Make no mistake; this is not a fairy tale with a happy ending. Each episode that passes by, there is the constant fear that one of them may die, get disfigured, betrayed, or be forced to commit something hideous. This may be a fear similar with other animes, but in this series, it is different. There is a clear message that bad things are inevitable, and not even the main characters are safe.

Made in Abyss is not a fun adventure; there is no land full of treasure and happiness; it is a horrible place where bad things happen.

Where to Watch Made in Abyss?

You can watch Made in Abyss on a few major streaming platforms. Amazon Prime and Netflix both offer this series.

The show is only one season, and all 13 episodes are available.

There is only one issue: these platforms have geo-restricted content, and their shows cannot be watched worldwide.

Amazon only makes this series available for people located within the United States, and it is blocked for everyone else.

Netflix also uses geo-blocking technology that stops users from watching content from other countries, which is why it could not be showing up on your search.

But rest assured, it is available on Netflix but not for everyone; it is currently only offered on Netflix Japan, Germany, and Italy. So if you are not in one of these three countries, then you probably won’t be able to watch Made in Abyss without a VPN.

Steps to Watch Made in Abyss from Anywhere

If you want to watch geo-blocked content, Then you must use a VPN to spoof your location. A good VPN will help you mask your original location and change it to anywhere else in the world.

All you have to do is:

1. Download a reliable VPN and purchase a subscription

2. Run the VPN app and choose a Japanese, German, or Italian server

3. Log in to your Netflix account and search for Made in Abyss

Enjoy the series!

Can I Use a Free VPN?

Netflix spends a lot of money each year building their firewall and restricting VPNs. This is why only a few VPN services are able to bypass the restriction and get you access into Netflix’s blocked content.

The moment Netflix detects a VPN, you will be presented with an error message.

Other issues with using a free VPN:

  • Low data transfer
  • Limited servers and location
  • Not enough internet speed to stream

So to get the most out of your streaming account, consider the following VPNs.
