X Not Loading? Thousands Report Issues February 16, 2026
If your X feed is not loading today, you are not alone. On Monday, February 16, 2026, users across the globe began reporting widespread issues with X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. Both the mobile app and desktop site appear to be affected, with many people encountering error messages, blank timelines, or pages that simply refuse to load.
According to outage tracking platform DownDetector, reports surged rapidly throughout the morning and into the afternoon. At one point, more than 41,000 users had logged complaints about problems accessing the platform as of 8:24 AM. ET.

Where Are Users Reporting Problems?
Reports have been pouring in from multiple regions, including:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- India
More than 11,000 outage reports were recorded in the U.S. alone, with over 3,300 coming from the UK. Globally, that number climbed even higher as the day progressed, eventually exceeding 40,000 users reporting issues with both app and web access.
Many users attempting to open the platform were met with little more than the X logo and none of the usual posts or timeline content.
Why Is X Down Today?
At the time of writing, there is still no official statement from X or its owner Elon Musk regarding the cause of the outage. That lack of communication is not entirely unusual for the platform, which does not maintain a public system status page where users can track downtime or service disruptions.
In previous outages, updates have typically been shared directly through official X accounts. However, because the platform itself is currently experiencing downtime, those usual communication channels are unavailable.
For reference, X experienced a similar outage in March 2025. In November of the same year, a broader Cloudflare service disruption also caused temporary access issues for several websites, including X.
When Will X Be Back Online?
There is currently no confirmed timeline for when service will be fully restored. Outages of this scale are typically resolved within a few hours, but until an official update is issued, users may continue experiencing intermittent loading failures or login problems.
