What’s Coming to Summer Game Fest 2025 This June

Summer Game Fest (SGF) 2025 is almost here, and the lineup is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet. Running from June 6 to June 8. For those not attending in person, the entire event will be streamed online across more than 20 platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, X, Steam, and more.
With E3 now officially discontinued, SGF has become the main stage for developers, publishers, and studios to show off new games, announce release dates, and offer exclusive trailers.
A few major titles have already been announced for the showcase:
- Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: A Soulslike action RPG by Chinese studio Leenzee, set for release in July
- Chrono Odyssey: A large-scale, open-world MMORPG making another appearance
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach: With the game launching on June 26, Hideo Kojima is expected to share new footage
Kojima fans also have reason to be excited. Beyond Death Stranding 2, we may get teasers for his other upcoming projects:
- OD: A psychological horror game currently being developed by Kojima Productions in partnership with Xbox Game Studios
- Physint: A story-driven espionage game from Kojima Productions, developed in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment. The project is still in early development and isn’t expected to launch for at least five years
Day of the Devs (June 6, 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET)
Right after the main showcase, Day of the Devs takes over the stream. This indie-focused event will spotlight 20 titles from smaller studios. Expect previews for:
- Possessor(s) from Heart Machine
- Neverway, a dark RPG from Coldblood and Outersloth
- A new look at Big Walk from House House
Wholesome Direct (June 7, 9AM PT / 12PM ET)
The cozy game showcase is back with a lineup of around 60 uplifting, artistic, and emotionally driven games. This year’s Wholesome Direct will highlight a mix of world premieres, demo announcements, and development updates from a wide range of creators. Studios like Wētā Workshop, ustwo games, and Playstack are all part of the event, alongside many smaller indie teams from around the world.
Xbox Games Showcase (June 8, 10AM PT / 1PM ET)
Microsoft will take the stage with their largest showcase of the year, promising updates from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard. Expected titles include:
- Fable (2026)
- Perfect Dark
- Gears of War: E-Day
- State of Decay 3
- Clockwork Revolution
- Everwild
- Contraband
