iPhone Owners Can Claim $95 From Apple Siri Settlement
Apple agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit over Siri's Apple Intelligence features, and the claims window is now open. Eligible iPhone owners can receive up to $95 per device, but claims must be filed by December 21, 2026.
The lawsuit alleged Apple misled customers about Siri's AI capabilities. Buyers said they purchased iPhones expecting certain Apple Intelligence features that didn't arrive as advertised, particularly the promised integration of ChatGPT with Siri and a personalized emoji tool. Apple has denied wrongdoing, and the settlement isn't an admission of liability.
Who's eligible
You may qualify if you purchased one of the following between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- Any iPhone 16 model
You must also be the original purchaser of the device (not a reseller), and the phone must have been for personal or professional use. Businesses can file claims too.
How to file a claim
- Go to SmartphoneAISettlement.com, the official claims site.
- Enter your name, address, and phone number.
- Enter your iPhone's serial number, which you can find in Settings.
- Choose how you want to get paid: PayPal, Venmo, direct deposit, or check.
Only one cash payment is allowed per eligible device. If you bought more than one qualifying iPhone, you'll need to submit a separate claim for each one.
How much will you get
Valid claims start at $25 per device. That amount can increase up to $95 or decrease, depending on how many people file valid claims and other factors laid out in the settlement.
When you'll get paid
A district court in San Jose, California, will hold a final approval hearing on February 24, 2027. If nobody appeals the settlement, payments are expected to go out shortly after. An appeal could delay things.
Ryan Clarkson, co-lead counsel on the case and founder of Clarkson Law Firm, called it the largest false-advertising settlement in history in a statement to CBS News. Apple has not commented publicly on the settlement beyond its earlier statement that it resolved the matter to stay focused on its products and services.
