Expectations & Speculations on Ariana Grande’s Wicked Perfumes

With the release of the second Wicked movie approaching, Ariana Grande is teasing two new perfumes under her Wicked For Good line: Glinda Bubbly Pink and Elphaba Enchanted. Both are marketed as unisex, though their presentation leans more toward feminine. Each scent is inspired by the main characters, Glinda and Elphaba.
Glinda Bubbly Pink has fruity, floral, and musky notes that give off a light “clean girl summer” vibe. The round pink bottle, topped with a small crown, reflects Glinda’s personality: soft, charming, and approachable. The round design hints at the gentle nature of the scent, with no bold spices or woody notes cutting through.
Elphaba Enchanted takes a slightly less feminine approach. Its bottle is a sharper teardrop shape, capped with a striking black lid. The fragrance opens with crisp apple, layered with sweet vanilla and plum. A resin note adds depth and warmth, helping it linger on the skin. While “resin” is a broad term, ranging from amber to tonka, it adds a mysterious edge to this otherwise sweet and fresh fragrance. While the bottle fits the character, it feels like more effort could have gone into the design; something like a witch’s hat cap would have added a stronger touch. Packaging isn’t everything when it comes to perfumes, but it’s the first thing most consumers notice. Since Glinda’s bottle shows extra detail, it raises the question of why the same level of effort wasn’t applied here.
