Voyager Returns: Chrysler’s Budget-Friendly Minivan for 2025
Published: September 26th, 2024.
Chrysler has announced the return of the Voyager minivan to their retail lineup for 2025, positioning it as a budget-friendly alternative to its more luxurious sibling, the Pacifica. With a starting U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $39,995 (excluding destination charges), the 2025 Chrysler Voyager offers an affordable entry point into the brand’s minivan family, appealing to cost-conscious buyers.
Since 2022, the Voyager has been available only to fleet customers, but Chrysler has now reintroduced it for retail customers in response to rising consumer demand for lower-cost vehicles. The reintroduction comes as Chrysler continues their commitment to the minivan segment, which Stellantis, Chrysler’s parent company, pioneered over 40 years ago.
The 2025 Voyager provides a robust suite of features, many of which were previously reserved for higher-priced models. Notably, it includes a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a seven-inch digital cluster, Stow ‘n Go seating for second and third rows, and a power sliding door and liftgate. Regarding safety, the minivan comes with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear park assist as standard features.
Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO for Stellantis, emphasized the Voyager’s appeal to budget-conscious families. “The 2025 Chrysler Voyager offers a well-equipped, budget-conscious minivan that reinforces our brand’s commitment to delivering choices in the minivan segment,” Feuell said. “We’ve added many comfort, technology, and safety features to make the Voyager an attractive, value-packed option.”
The Voyager’s powertrain includes the proven 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, delivering 287 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. Of torque. The minivan is available in a single trim level, LX, and buyers can choose between three exterior colors: Red Hot, Diamond Black, and Bright White.
Chrysler’s minivan lineup for 2025 ranges from the Voyager to the premium Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle, which boasts a luxurious interior and various advanced features. The Pacifica also offers an electrified option with the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, which remains the only plug-in hybrid minivan on the market. However, the Voyager caters to a different audience—families seeking practicality and value without sacrificing essential features.
Although the Voyager’s return to the retail market marks a significant moment for Chrysler, it faces stiff competition from rivals like the Toyota Sienna, Kia Carnival, and Honda Odyssey, all of which are strong contenders in the minivan market with more modern designs. Despite this, Chrysler hopes the Voyager’s price point and feature set will make it a competitive choice.
Orders for the 2025 Chrysler Voyager are now open, with vehicles expected to arrive at dealerships by the fourth quarter of this year.
