Quick Stats

In 1999 a new hosting company was introduced to the world. Yup, you guessed it, Site5 started in Dallas, Texas, and is another hosting company under the umbrella of Endurance International Group like HostGator and Bluehost. So, what differentiates it from other web hosts? Dig-in with us to find out everything you need to know.
Site5 Shared Hosting
Site5 offers shared, VPS, and reseller hosting, but we’re here to focus on their shared hosting plans. Although Site5’s plans are a bit pricey, you’ll be benefiting from many features with every plan. There are three plans offered, let’s take a look:

Host Basic | Host Pro | Host Pro + Turbo | |
---|---|---|---|
Disk Space | Unmetered | Unmetered | Unmetered |
Bandwidth | Unmetered | Unmetered | Unmetered |
Domain Name | 1 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Websites | 1 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Backups | Available | Available | Available |
Website Migration | Available | Available | Available |
Price/Month (2 Years Plan) | $8.34 | $13.13 | $16.74 |
If you didn’t like the services provided by Site 5, you have 45-days to change your mind and get a refund.
Ease of Use
Using Site5 is a piece of cake; they said it “We don’t want to make web hosting any more complicated than it already is.” Meaning, they tried to simplify web hosting by having an easy-to-use control panel. That doesn’t mean advanced users shouldn’t use it. It simply allows you to do anything without any complication. Isn’t that great?
After the sign-up process, you’ll receive a detailed email with everything you need to know about web hosting.
Customer Support

In case you face any problem, there’s a customer support team available 24/7 for help. They can answer any question and help in site migration, which is only available Monday to Friday. But we’re not here to talk about site migration; we’ll get into that later. We’re here to tell you that customer support is available via email and live chat 24/7. There’s also phone support. Sadly, they’re only available Monday to Friday from 10 am till 6 pm EST.
If you don’t want to contact the agents, you can refer to their knowledge base or Q&A section on their website. Give it a try; you might find what you’re looking for and get support from the Site5 community.
Site5 Security
All plans on Site5 come with a secure SSL certificate, which is a great feature to have a secure website for visitors. Especially if you’re creating an e-commerce store where customers have to enter some sensitive information like their credit card details. Honestly, it’ll save you money because you won’t have to purchase it alone, which is great and not available among many competitors.
Load Times, Reliability & Features

Like other web hosts, Site 5 has a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and if the site’s uptime is below that, you’ll get a refund. They’re pretty confident it won’t, so I’m sure it’s better than you’d expect it to be. Other than that, there have only been a few complaints about Site 5’s reliability, which is another good indicator when considering there are multiple data centers.
Site 5 offers several features with their plans. Let’ take a look:
- Unlimited Storage & Bandwidth
- Free backup
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Easy website builder
- Free website migration
- MySQL supported many coding languages
- Malware protection
There are different control panels based on the hosting plan you choose. These include cPanel/WHM, Backstage, SiteAdmin, and MultiAdmin. The multi-admin feature is available in the host Pro plan, where you can assign multiple hosts to the same account. There’s also a Softaculous one-click script installer, which simplifies the process of downloading apps.
Site5 used to have 19 different server locations. However, during the sign-up process, you can only select the central US, which is a bit confusing. Another downside of using Site5 is there’s no SSD, which means they run their server off old hard drives, which can slow your website.
Final Verdict
All in all, Site5 is another web hosting service that comes with unlimited bandwidth and storage, a domain name, free backup, and an SSL certificate to keep your website safe. While all of these are great features and they come with even better customer service. Still, we think other hosting services owned by Endurance International Group like HostGator and Bluehost provide a better value for money.
