You must have your repair approved by AAA before the repair shop starts work. You or the facility would call 855-292-9306 if your contract was bought before April 4, 2023, or 844-878-9431 if it was bought after that date. AAA would then coordinate with the repair manager about coverage and costs, and you would be told if there are any uncovered costs involved. Aside from that, everything would be handled for you, and you would only pay the deductible, if applicable.

That depends. If you opt for a monthly subscription, AAA promises you protection from day one—no waiting period applies. However, if you go on a term-period contract, you may have to wait 30 days and go over 1,000 odometer miles to be able to file a repair claim. Be sure to check your contract, as this may vary.

The trial period for monthly subscriptions is 20 days if you're in Maryland, Mississippi, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. 

As for term contracts, the trial extends to 30–60 days, depending on whether your car is new or pre-owned, and after that, you may receive a pro-rated refund for the remainder of your paid term period. However, processing cancellation requests could take 30 days, and you may incur a $50 cancellation fee.
