Google is making online shopping even smarter with a set of new AI-powered features in its Shopping tab. These updates, including the Vision Match tool, upgraded AR beauty try-ons, and an expanded virtual try-on experience, are designed to help you turn your fashion and beauty ideas into reality.

The highlight of Google’s latest update is Vision Match, an AI tool that helps you find clothing based on descriptions you type in. Ever imagined the perfect outfit but couldn’t find it? Now, you can just describe it—like a “colorful midi dress with big daisies”—and Google will generate images that match your idea, along with real products you can buy. This tool taps into Google’s Shopping Graph, ensuring the results are as close as possible to what you’re looking for.

Previously available as an experiment in Google Labs, Vision Match is now part of the mobile shopping experience for U.S. users. You can try it by typing your idea into Google Search, then looking for the “Can’t find it? Create it” prompt, or by selecting “Create & Shop” in the Shopping tab.

Try on makeup virtually with AR beauty tools

Google is also stepping up its AR beauty game, letting you try on multiple makeup products at once. Now, you can mix and match lipsticks, mascaras, eyeshadows, and eyeliners from top brands like E.L.F., Fenty, and Glossier.
Looking for inspiration? Just search for a makeup style—like “soft glam”—and tap “See the looks on you” and “Try it on” to see curated beauty looks applied virtually to your face. It’s a super easy way to experiment with different products before buying.

Virtual Try-On now includes pants and skirts

Google’s Virtual Try-On tool is also getting a big upgrade. First launched in 2023 to help shoppers see how clothes look on different body types, the feature now includes pants and skirts from hundreds of brands.

This means you can see how different styles fit, drape, and crease on real-life models ranging from XXS to XXL, giving you a more realistic idea of how clothes will look before making a purchase. It’s another step toward making online shopping more inclusive and personalized.
