Powertrain & Performance
At the heart of the ZR1X is Chevrolet's most ambitious powertrain to date. The LT7 engine, a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, delivers an impressive 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, ensuring seamless gear shifts that contribute to the ZR1X's remarkable acceleration. The rear-wheel-drive setup powers the vehicle's rear axle, while a front-axle electric motor adds 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. This combination produces a staggering total output of 1,250 horsepower.
The ZR1X is capable of reaching 0–60 mph in under 2 seconds, a feat that places it in hypercar territory. The quarter-mile is completed in under 9 seconds, with a trap speed of over 150 mph. These figures represent a massive leap forward for Chevrolet, positioning the ZR1X as one of the fastest vehicles in the world. For comparison, the current fastest production car, the Rimac Nevera, boasts similar performance figures but at a much higher price point.
Not only is the ZR1X fast in straight-line speed, but it also excels on the track, thanks to its hybrid powertrain. The combination of electric motors and the traditional V8 engine gives the ZR1X incredible torque delivery, enabling it to navigate tight corners and aggressive straights with ease. The hybrid system intelligently adjusts power distribution, providing optimal performance in various driving conditions.
Design & Aerodynamics
From a design standpoint, the 2026 Corvette ZR1X is an evolution of the bold, aggressive lines that define the Corvette lineage. It features a carbon-fiber front splitter and side skirts, dive planes, and a prominent rear wing—all contributing to a high level of downforce. These aerodynamic enhancements ensure that the ZR1X remains stable at extreme speeds, with a top speed of 233 mph in its base configuration.
For enthusiasts who demand the ultimate in track performance, the ZTK Performance Package is available. This package increases downforce by over 1,200 pounds, further optimizing the ZR1X's stability at high speeds and improving its cornering capability. With these enhancements, the ZR1X offers not just raw power but also remarkable handling dynamics, making it suitable for both street and track environments.
The ZR1X also includes a cutting-edge suspension system. Adaptive magnetic dampers continuously adjust to driving conditions, ensuring that the ZR1X is as comfortable as it is capable. On the track, the suspension works seamlessly with the car's hybrid powertrain to deliver exceptional handling, while on the road, it provides a comfortable ride for everyday driving.
Interior & Technology
Inside, the 2026 Corvette ZR1X presents a reimagined driving environment, incorporating the latest in automotive technology. The cockpit features a triple-screen layout, consisting of a 14-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.7-inch infotainment display, and a 6.6-inch customizable touchscreen to the left of the steering wheel. These displays provide the driver with real-time performance data, vehicle status, and navigation information at a glance.
The center console is completely redesigned to improve ergonomics and give the ZR1X a more futuristic, high-tech feel. The materials used throughout the cabin, including leather and carbon fiber, reflect the vehicle’s high-performance nature while providing comfort for both driver and passenger.
New interior color options are available, including Sky Cool, Medium Ash Gray, Santorini Blue, Very Dark Atmosphere, and Ultimate Suede. The seats are crafted for maximum comfort, with an emphasis on keeping the driver securely in place during high-speed maneuvers.
As expected from a vehicle of this caliber, the ZR1X is loaded with advanced driver assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. Additionally, Chevrolet has integrated an advanced infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a premium sound system designed for audiophiles.
Production & Availability
The 2026 Corvette ZR1X will be assembled at General Motors' Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky. This state-of-the-art facility will use a combination of U.S.-sourced and global components to build the ZR1X. The LT7 engines, the heart of this hypercar, will be hand-assembled by master engine builders at the Bowling Green Performance Build Center.
Pricing for the ZR1X has not yet been finalized, but it is expected to fall between $190,000 and $200,000, putting it squarely in the hypercar price range. Production will be limited, adding to the exclusivity of the model. Chevrolet plans to release the ZR1X in select markets, with global deliveries beginning in late 2026.
