Landing Page Explained: What Is and How to Make OneLanding Page Explained: What Is and How to Make One

The digital world has witnessed huge growth fueled by the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent curfew in the last two years. It is fair to say that shops are moving residence into the digital world, and by extension, digital marketing is gaining foot. Take, for example, Amazon, which grew considerably during this period. This shows how now is a better time than any to start your online shop/website. A major part of online marketing is the landing page.

In this article, we will explain what makes a landing page so important for digital marketing and how you can easily create one using a website builder in a few simple steps.

What Is a Landing Page?

A landing page is a marketing tool where a standalone page for your website is made for the sole purpose of "conversion." A conversion is when a visitor to your website does the desired action, which in many cases involves making a purchase.

The landing page will almost always contain a call to action button (CTA) with the purpose of promoting your goal, whether that is subscribing to a service, making a purchase, or creating an account.

A landing page will often be optimized for search engine optimization (SEO) purposes as it is made to appeal and make a profit. Many find it difficult to differentiate between a home page, but the difference can be seen in the page extensions as a landing page will only have the most necessary and relevant links going out from the page.

On the other hand, a home page will often have an about, contact us, store page with all products on display, and possibly a gallery page, which is much more than what a landing page includes. In addition, a home page will include a heater and a footer, while a landing page won't.

Keep in mind that a landing page can be set to be your website's home page in certain situations.

So what makes a landing page good or bad? Here are a few features that indicate your landing page's potential:

1. Clear and direct-to-the-point CTAs.

2. Appealing color schemes and design.

3. The use of visual data, including images, videos, and graphs.

4. Clean, clear, and concise text.

5. Great user experience features (UX).

6. No exit links (links that lead users away from your landing page).

Steps to Create a Landing Page

Creating a landing page is easy, but there are two ways to create it, which include creating it from scratch or creating it using a pre-existing template. In general, the process is very similar between different website builders.
